    :

I got the “O” bag as an addition to My Brompton and think it is incredibly well made and designed, fits on the train well when I take it off the bike and there is enough compartments in it for everything I need for my commute. The waterproof material holds up very well in the rain. Very expensive but I would highly recommend it. It looks good and is a good colaboration between Brompton and Ortileb.

    :

Very well made bag. Rain proof rather than totally submersible, like other bags by Ortlieb.
You can fit a surprising amount of things in it.
Sits well on the front of any brompton.

Beautiful quality. Very solidly made and hard wearing. Waterproofed and padded for protection. Elegant. Black goes with everything. The perfect commuter bag for the perfect commuter bike. You won’t be disappointed.

I bought this in yellow (now unavailable!). Nice and bright so increase your presence on the road. Is decent size but if you have S handle bars you need to make sure you don’t over pack as it will foul your brake levers. Very waterproof – just tested on a very wet ride home from work.

    (verified owner):

The product is as pictured, of a high quality and exceptional finish, with easy to use clasps and add on pockets. There was simple diagrams inside explaining the use, which there is not many and pretty simple anyhow.

Inside there is a lot of handy pockets and plenty of space for your daily essentials. I intended the bag to be for holding a change of clothes and shoes for my long distance commute, however the main flap is pretty inflexible and doesn’t give should you have that one too many items. The clasps are pretty limited in there extendibility, probably to ensure closure and keep things dry, but that occasional stretchability would have been nice.

The two back pockets sit nicely on the bike, don’t get in your way and are super dry and very handy. You can take them off, however this does require you to remove the items inside as the bags need to be bent to fit.

The strap is good, the ‘grippy’ finish is a little poor quality compared to the rest of the bag, but does the job. The shoulder pad attached is however rather baulky and hiding it means yet another item to squeeze in the bag. It is a shame that it isnt integrated or can be hidden while on. The bag isn’t all that comfy to carry due to the carriers on the back and a little awkward when the back bags are attached, but ideal for short hops on trains or into your destination.

The sides and bottom are hard. They are covered with a differing fabric which easily marks on the product from any surface, especially on construction sites. It doesn’t brush off easily and quickly looses its polished black look.

If you are a brand person, there is no reference on any of the actual product that it is made by Ortlieb, and I mean anywhere! Other than the included instructions. Would have been nice to have had a little label or something somewhere to justify the cost.

Its dry, high quality, relatively big for flexibility, amazingly waterproof and looks good on and off the bike. If you have the Black and Colour Brompers it looks particularly good.

    :

This is the Rolls Royce of bags, although with a price to match. It is extremely well manufactured and looks great on the bike. There are relatively few compartments inside, but there are the two removable bellows pockets on the back. The fabric is quite stiff, and the back & base are hard. This makes it very stable. It doesn’t have much flexibility if you’re packing it full, but its capacity is pretty huge. On a couple of occasions I’ve packed an overnight change for a couple of days.

Overall, its hard to beat this bag for looks & build quality if money is no object. However it reinforces how good the C or S bags are for barely half the price.

    :

Well made and definitely waterproof, but needs a longer flap/wider opening and longer straps to allow you to carry more on the odd occasion you need to carry extra – ive modified mine with elastic straps to allow extra flex when needed

    :

Exceptional for keeping your stuff dry. I’ve used the Brompton C bag and Carradice wax canvas bag and both do get damp internally in the heavy rain. It’s got a nice divider for the laptop and lined interior.

The main gripe I have is it’s not really expandable for the times you need to carry a little more. When I use the C bag it can easily accommodate a small package or extra items of groceries. I carry a laptop, a change of clothing and repair gear, notebook and that doesn’t leave much extra room.

I agree with the other reviewer on the shoulder strap and that there’s isn’t anywhere to tuck it in whilst riding. On the C bag they have a mesh pocket on the side for the purpose of keeping the strap secure and stops it from interfering with anything.

    :

Just what I needed for the commute, with enough space for everything I need and with Ortlieb, guaranteed to stay dry. This one has been through a bit of rain with the contents staying perfectly dry, but is yet to be tested with a proper down pour (I must be lucky). Well made and seems like it will last. Only 4 stars as a bit on the pricey side.

    :

Ortlieb have successfully designed the ultimate waterproof bag, and although not the most ergonomically designed bag on the market this is one hell of a robust piece of kit. Personally in day to day use I prefer a bag with Velcro fastenings that I can easily access my water bottle, wallet etc whilst on the move, but what you lose on practical application you make up for on style, durability and waterproof ability.
Brompton Junction service is faultless and speedy – why shop anywhere else?

    :

This is a very good bag for commuting. The bag is large enough to get my laptop, lunch and change of clothes in and there are various compartments to keep everything segregated. It is also very well made and so far totally waterproof, recent commutes have included rain, hail and snow and everything has stayed dry. The bag fits onto bike really securely and does provide a degree of rain protection for the rider.

I was a little worried when I got the bag that I would notice the extra weight of carrying the the bag on the bike, my view is that the bag does not have any negative impact on ride quality – if anything I prefer it as front feels slightly less light. This will be a matter of opinion, but I like it.

    :

I bought this bag four month ago, and I am very satisfied with it. It is indeed waterproof, and has a good solid inner pocket for my laptop. Carrying it on my shoulder is quite comfortable, and I like that has a firm structure. The only issue with it is that it is difficult to load it. The bottom part tends to be empty and the things I put it tend to stuck in the upper part (perhaps a disadvantage of the firm structure), which makes it difficult to clip in.
All in all, it is a great bag, but very very expensive. Luckily I did not have to pay for it, and probably would not have bought it for this price.

    :

I purchased the old model O Bag in green with luggage block, though they seem near identical. Although not the most spacious, the O bag is a good size for my requirements – I fit waterproof trousers and packed lunch along with a note pad and filofax (showing my age).
I like the detachable outer bags/pockets on the bag, although I tend to just use one and leave it open to drop my gloves and woolly hat in on cold days when I’m folding the bike up to get on the train, it save messing about with coat pockets.
If I could change anything, I’d put a small outer pocket on the front.
In all, a good bag, well made, practical, stylish and it feels as though it will last.

Great bag… Rain proof, smart compartments to organize stuff inside the bag, safe laptop pocket. Smart design and easy to carry on my shoulder.
I am really happy with my purchase. in general probably my best cicle bag.
The brompton juction service was fast and accurate, my bag arrived less than 2 works day.
    Its a bag for life!

    :

I absolutely love this bag tough durable and big enough to fit a family picnic in. Looks great on my new bike with lots of compartments for my valuables. I was not sure which bag would be right for me and called customer services, the team went through each style of bag describing the benefits and even helped me choose the right colour to match my bike.

    :

Great quality waterproof bag, large enough to fit everything I need for a day at work (laptop, lunch, change of clothes, paperwork etc.) with lots of compartments to keep me organised. The black colour all over is smart and it feels very secure when attached to my Brompton. I would definitely recommend this bag if you’re looking for something that can hold a lot and keep your things dry!
